Frequently asked Questions and Email

Now that this website is getting a lot of traffic and has had over 71,000 hits since its creation, I have updated the relevent pages to include the questions that I am frequently getting asked via email. If after reading the relevent section, and having a look through the UK VW T4 Forum, if your question is VW specific, or the Self Build Motor Caravan Club's archives if your question is about building a camper, you want to ask a question, email me, but if you ask me something that is allready on this site, I will just direct you back to this site to re-read it.

FAQ's (In no particular order)

Window Tints - I have had no problems with the strength of my window tints which are Medium Smoke, and have so far not been stopped by the police.

Do you have any more pictures of.... - No, I only kept the pictures that are used on this site. Sorry

Can you help me with wiring up my zig/fog lights etc.... - I am not an vehicle electrician, and have managed to find basic info on the web and the above named forums to help me and it wasn't that difficult. You should be able to find out the same for your needs with a little effort, but if your really stuck like I was with hooking up my electric windows, then do what I did and take it in to an auto electrician and pay them. Better safe than a fire hazard.

Do you regret not fitting an elevating roof. - I just got back from a long trip on the continent, and the only time I missed a higher roof was when putting on my jeans :) You also have to weigh up the cost of putting a £2,500 roof on an old van, and the return you will get on it. I decided that I would probably buy an awning instead. The next van I build which will be worth a lot more will probably have an elevating roof on it though for more storage when parked.
